Job Description
Summary
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of industrial powered trucks to move materials, supplies, and finished products throughout the facility. Playing a critical role in the logistics process by loading and unloading trailers, stacking inventory in high-bay racking, and supplying production lines with necessary raw materials. Ensuring all equipment is maintained and safety protocols are followed to prevent accidents and damage to goods.
Job Duties:
- Operate sit-down, stand-up, or reach-truck forklifts safely in a fast-paced environment
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing delivery trucks with precision and speed
- Transport raw materials and heavy components to designated workstations or storage areas
- Facilitate the organization of the warehouse by stacking and palletizing products correctly
- Perform periodical pre-operational safety inspections on the forklift and report any defects
- Use RF scanners or digital logs to track the movement of inventory and maintain accuracy
- Secure loads with shrink wrap, straps, or pallet jacks before transporting them across the site
- Assist in manual picking, packing, and sorting of orders when equipment is not in use
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free driving path by clearing debris and organizing pallets
- Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and company-specific power equipment policies
- Other Warehouse Section Manager assigned tasks
Job Requirements:
- High school/ GED or above
- Current and valid Forklift Operator Certification (required)
- 2 to 4 years of experience operating forklifts in an industrial or warehouse setting
- Strong spatial awareness and the ability to maneuver in tight or high-traffic areas
- Very detail oriented and organized regarding inventory placement and safety checks
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (warehouse heat or cold storage)
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb on/off the equipment frequently
